Already a knowledgeable New Age author, researcher and practitioner of sorts, Academy Award-winning Actress Shirley MacLaine seems to have added UFO conspiracy reporter to her resume. In her latest book, Saging While Aging, Shirley reveals what she knows or has learned about various incidents involving UFOs, the military, intelligence services and famous people. The well-known performer that has appeared in almost sixty films to date recently discussed her book and shared some of these revelations with Whitley Strieber on his Dreamland web cast.
One of the most-shocking claims made by the veteran actress is that the late John Mack, professor of Psychiatry at Harvard University and alien abductions researcher, may have been murdered. Dr Mack was killed by a drunk driver as he stepped off a curb in London, England, near Totteridge Lane and Longland Drive on September 27, 2004. He was walking home alone after a dinner with some friends when the incident occurred. Shirley says that another person named John Mack was also killed by a drunk driver around the same time in another part of London.
Another story Shirley shares is one that she heard from Lucille Ball involving the late Ronald Reagan. While he was still an actor, Ronald Reagan was attending a party with several other celebrities at a private residence in Los Angeles. The actor and his wife arrived several hours late. According to well-known actress and comedienne Lucille Ball, Reagan took her aside and told her that he and his wife Nancy had an amazing experience on the way to the party.
Ronald Regan told Lucy that he and Nancy were driving on Mulholland Drive when a UFO landed near their vehicle. Although this story has been told before, a number of new details were added. For example, Shirley MacLaine says Lucille Ball told her that Reagan claimed a ladder appeared and an alien climbed out of the craft. The alien told him to quit his acting work and go into politics. The most popular version of that same story doesn't include the appearance of an alien or what he said to the former California Governor and President of the United States.
MacLaine had a few more surprises in store for Whitley Strieber and his audience. One was that she believed the popular account that President Eisenhower met with aliens at what is now Edwards Air Force Base in 1954. Another was her admiration for the late Dr Michael Wolf and the information he shared with paranormal researchers. Dr Wolf is well known to some in the UFO field as a U.S. Government Insider that spent roughly the last ten years of his life sharing some of what he knew or had learned about UFOs and aliens. Those revelations included as much as he was allowed to reveal about U.S. Government involvement with aliens.
Fellow paranormal researcher Dick Criswell and I spent years speaking with Dr Wolf., Dick much more so than I. Michael Wolf spoke about things involving UFOs and aliens in the 1990s that were completely unknown to UFO researchers at that time. That caused him more than a few problems with many in the UFO research community where already jealous and distrustful people took aim at his claims. Despite almost complete rejection by major UFO research organizations, Dr Wolf's information was credible and time has proven him to be correct. Several video and audio presentations by or about Dr Wolf are offered at http://www.CanYouStandTheTruth.com
Shirley MacLaine first stirred up a hornet's nest with her new book by revealing that Democratic presidential contender Dennis Kucinich (House of Representatives, D-Ohio) had seen a UFO while at one of her homes located near Seattle, Washington. That brought a number of embarrassing questions for Kucinich and revealed how the mainstream media simply refuses to take the subject seriously.
MacLaine's new book is more than just the usual New Age fluff and I'm not sure that her loyal readers are ready for what she has to say. However, I thank her for her honesty and suggest you read Saging While Aging. In a culture devoted to youth, it's important to remember how much we can learn from those who have experienced life and few have done so more fully than Shirley MacLaine.

Haunted Lighthouses - The St. Augustine Lighthouse
The St. Augustine Lighthouse sits on the north end of Anastasia Island in St. Augustine, Florida. The current tower, which was built in 1874, rises to 165 feet above sea level. The original lighthouse, built in 1824, was approximately 500 yards northeast of the current lighthouse. Due to the receding shoreline, it fell into the ocean back in 1880.
Throughout its early history, the lighthouse employed up to three lightkeepers at a time. There was a head keeper and two assistants. In 1955, when the lighthouse was automated, there was no longer a need for lightkeepers and the last one left at that time. The lightkeepers, who would actually live on site, were replaced by lamplighters, who would tend the light but didn't actually live there.
According to the lighthouse's official website, there have been seven people who have died on the lighthouse grounds: three lightkeepers, a keeper's wife and three young girls. Several of these are said to have died of natural causes. One man fell to his death from the original lighthouse in 1859, and the three girls died in a tragic drowning accident.
The lighthouse and its surrounding buildings have a long history of paranormal activity and stories of the hautings have been passed on and have been featured in popular television shows, books, and local lore for decades. Visitors and workers say they have seen moving shadows and heard voices along with unexplained sounds. Some tour guides claim they hear someone climbing the tower steps, but the footfalls fade away, and no one is ever there at the top of the tower. There is also said to be a little girl who likes to play pranks residing in the keeper's house, a tall man in the basement, and a spirit who likes to play with the merchandise in the gift shop. One former keeper was infamous for enjoying his cigars. Today, the scent of his cigar can still be detected several times a week.
Several employees have reportedly seen a hazy male figure walking through the lighthouse. Footsteps from an unseen presence can be heard shuffling on the gravel and the steps outside the lighthouse. Other reports are of a woman seen on the lighthouse stairway or walking in the yard outside the buildings.
Perhaps the most famous tragic story is that of three young girls who died during the construction of the second lighthouse. The story says that there was a rail car or some type of vehicle that went from the light station to the ocean. The children liked to play on it and ride on it for fun. On July 10, 1873, the cart somehow ended up in the water. Five children fell into the water and some of the Workers managed to save a boy and a girl. Two of the constuction superintendent's daughters, Mary and Eliza, and a young black girl, either a servant or the daughter of a worker, drowned.
It's said that today, the girls can be heard laughing in the tower late at night. The eldest of the construction superintendent's daughters, Mary, has also been spotted wearing the same blue velvet dress and blue hair bow she was wearing when she died. Reports also say that the the figures of two little girls can sometimes be seen standing on the lighthouse catwalk.
For years there have been reports of a large dark, male spirit that hangs around the water collecting cisterns in the basement. Supposedly he was a sailor or a former lightkeeper who hung himself in the lighthouse in the 1930's. According to the lighthouse's website, there isn't any proof or evidence that anyone ever hung him/herself there.
History says that the original owner of the lighthouse was forced to sell it to the government in 1865 because it was believed that the land under the lighthouse was receding and the ocean would eventually swallow it. The state offered to buy the lighthouse for alot less than it was worth and he refused to sell. The government then threatened to take the lighthouse via eminent domain and give him nothing. At this point, the former owner was outraged and vowed never to leave the lighthouse. Lighthouse staff say he seems to have kept his vow as his spirit is sometimes seen late at night walking in and around the property.
One of my favorite episodes of Ghost Hunters was filmed at the St. Augustine Lighthouse. The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) stopped by to see if they could prove or disprove any of the hauntings. During the episode, they caught a few interesting things on both video and audio. There was a female voice that seemed to say "help me" a few times on the audio recording. The video camera captured a dark figure moving really quickly up the circular staircase and then stopping to look over the railing down at the camera crew from the top floor. The figure then disappeared. When Jason and Grant went to investigate, they realized the door at the top which would be the only exit was padlocked from the inside. There was also a motion detection light that never came on until the TAPS guys got up there. Overall, with the evidence they captured, the guys determined that they really couldn't prove the place wasn't haunted.
The St. Augustine Lighthouse is currently owned and maintained by the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum, Inc. The lighthouse is operational and is is an official, privately-owned, active aid to navigation. The museum is open to the public and the admission price funds preservation of the lighthouse and programs in maritime archaeology and education. The lighthouse offers night tours of the site, though they don't promise any ghosts.

How to Use Kirlian Photography to Achieve Unique Outcomes for Science and Photography
People who take an interest in paranormal phenomena are very likely aware of the contribution kirlian photography has to the studies in this pseudo-scientific research domain. In simple words kirlian photography is a form of aura photography, meaning that it allows the capturing of the subtle energetic fields that surround any life form. The physical explanation that lies behind kirlian photography is the electric field or the energy discharges and transfers that occur between various elements within an environment. This means that a photo could show more than one may see with the naked eye, and apparently the entire process relies on the properties of the cameras used for kirlian photography.
Called after the name of its inventor, kirlian photography is actually a reformulation and re-actualization of a phenomenon very often know as elecrography. Kirlian was not the first in his attempts to achieve unique outcomes for science and photography, as there have been other 18th and 19th century trials in the same direction. The interesting part about kirlian photography is the meaning it gets in metaphysical or paranormal contexts. Consider for instance the fact that one of the major attributes of kirlian photography was that of making the acupuncture points in the human body visible on a film.
Various experiments have been made to test kirlian photography and the possibilities it offers for the study of the energetic fields of living objects. This could also be the proof for any skeptical person who would strongly deny the existence of unseen energetic dimensions that are beyond immediate understanding or grasping by the human mind. Even more interesting is the fact that even inanimate objects influence the camera in kirlian photography, as the pictures show energy emissions in such cases too. For people who are a little familiar with such items, it is not difficult to realize that the whole structure of the world relies on energy transfer.
Though the very down to earth explanation of kirlian photography claims that the entire picture impression relies on normal physical phenomena such as the high voltage corona effect, the controversy is still normal. If it is true that kirlian photography captures more than mere electric discharges, then we are in self denial, living in a world that is both incomplete and shallow. If however, there is no energy body emission to be detected, then, at least we have this solid reality to count on. You may believe it or not, according to your own reason and judgment, and that is for sure!

Disproving Psychic Abilities
Psychics provide an opportunity to explore a mysterious world that lies just beyond our five senses. Opening a door to the supernatural realm of spirits and other worldly phenomenon psychics hold the key to the future that is yet to be.
Some skeptics say psychics do not exist but many experts disagree. Considering the expansive collection of unexplained phenomenon, in the world, it is hard to dispute the possibility of psychic powers.
We do know that we only use about 10% of our brains resources. So, what is the other 90 % for? It would stand to reason that it has some function. Right? So, is it not possible that somewhere, in that untapped potential, resides a sixth sense?
A sense that allowed us to survive a much darker time when man was forced to compete with oversized predators and elusive prey. Only armed with the power of the human mind, steely wits, and an opposable thumb mankind was already a formidable adversary. However, the addition of keener senses or an additional sixth sense would have made humanity unstoppable.
The ability to sense, that which lies beyond our five senses, would have been an invaluable tool to early man. It may have allowed the survival of the human species, as we know it today. However, as time went on and living conditions became easier with the domestication of animals, honing of learned skills, and the ability to form agrarian societies these abilities may have atrophied.
Our psychic abilities may have atrophied to the point that they became anatomically and physiologically vestigial in nature. The genetic combination responsible for the psychic trait may now rarely appear except aberrantly, in a chosen few, whose genotype allows phenotypical expression of the dormant trait or traits responsible for psychic abilities.
Just because we do not understand something fully does not mean it does not exist. The possibility of psychic ability, in our mysterious universe, is still a plausible explanation for many unexplained phenomenon.
Even with all of the advancements over the last 100 years there is still much debate and speculation, in the scientific community, about a plethora of topics. From the big bang to evolution scientists agree to disagree.
It stands to reason according to the scientific method that until all the explanations, hypothesis, and theories regarding psychic abilities are disproved that it must be considered as a viable alternative explanation to recognized unexplained paranormal phenomenon such as deja vu, precognition, and clairvoyance.
Some scientists studying psychic phenomenon, in children, utilizing the Zener card test regularly encounter statistically significant data that suggests more than chance outcomes at work. In fact many children regularly defy the odds by scoring 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60 % accuracy on a test with a statistical mean of 20% by chance. If that were a drug trial being run and that was the incidence of death for participants the FDA would certainly consider that significant. Right?
In addition to genetic factors that may predispose children to exhibit psychic abilities human development may hold some clues as to the reason children seem to possess a higher degree of psychic ability than adults. Human development occurs in stages each with its own marked physiological characteristics. During childhood it should come as no surprise to find out that we have the highest number of synaptic pathways that we ever have during the course of our lives. Do these extra connections provide a medium to the psychic realm? Is our brain wired towards the paranormal at earlier stages of human development due to anatomical and physiological processes that are occurring during the first several years of our lives?
Furthermore, according to Comparative Embryology during the first 6 weeks of human development, in our mother's womb, we go through an evolution of sorts. In fact up until the time we differentiate we remain almost morphologically indistinguishable from lower life forms, in the same phase of development. From a single cell to pharyngeal gill slits to lanugo (body hair in utero) to human morphology we comparatively exhibit similar traits to our animal ancestors.
Is it possible that this comparative morphology extends past the physical development of the human body and into our development outside the womb? Maybe, our cognitive development goes through an "evolution" of sorts were the anatomy and physiology of our minds comparatively resembles our ancient psychic ability possessing human ancestors.
So, the question becomes can we disprove all plausible explanations, hypothesis, and theories regarding psychic ability. Not can we prove psychic ability exists. In addition many skeptics spend their entire lives trying to prove that psychic abilities do not exist rather than trying to disprove their own explanations, hypothesis, and theories about its non-existence. This type of objective scientific inquiry is tainted with bias and must not be considered credible.
Only when all the possible plausible explanations, hypothesis, and theories have been tested subjectively using the scientific method and disproved can any true scientist or skeptic state with 95% confidence that psychics and human psychic abilities do not exist.

Texas UFO And Jets May Have Entered Restricted Presidential Airspace
The laundry list of strangeness surrounding the Stephenville, Texas, UFO sightings is growing. Despite efforts by a military spokesperson to attribute the sightings to F-16 training maneuvers, new video shows a strange object that doesn't look or act anything like a conventional aircraft. On top of that, a former defense industry electronics expert now says that the F-14s may have been scrambled in response to a violation of restricted presidential airspace by the military.
A new video has surfaced and been presented by Stephenville, Texas, resident Steve Allen, the owner of a freight company and a witness to the sighting on January 8, 2008. Allen says that the video of a strange object in the sky was presented to him by an anonymous source and that it was taken on the occasion of the January 8th sighting. The video appears very similar to another UFO film taken years before which shows an object moving extremely fast and making bizarre and aerodynamically impossible moves. This new video evidence casts doubt on the current air force explanation for the event.
A new scenario that might help explain one of the Stephenville UFO sightings has entered the picture, but it's doubtful that the Air Force or other U.S. Government Authorities will find this one helpful in their efforts to portray the affair in conventional terms. A former employee for a government contractor (now retired) told the International Paranormal UFO Society that he worked on F-16s for many years as an electronics engineer and has his own opinion of what happened on January 8, 2008.
This informant is known to IPUS and he claims that it would be very unlikely for so many F-14s to be on a evening or nighttime training mission at one time. Instead, he believes that the reason so many F-14s were involved in the incident is because the unidentified flying object they were chasing had violated restricted presidential airspace over the Bush Ranch in Crawford, Texas.
Our informant bases his opinion on all the information that the media, military and eyewitnesses have provided to date. He points out that a previous email from a private pilot to IPUS mentioned that he was approaching Erath County airspace (where the events of January 8, 2008 took place) from the south and saw the object and jets in front of him indicating that they were approaching the area from the same direction. President Bush's Crawford Ranch is south and slightly east of Stephenville.
IPUS is continuing to investigate the Stephenville Sightings and related matters. We will post any new information that we have on our website at http://www.CanYouStandTheTruth.com We encourage anyone with information about the Texas UFO sightings to contact us through our website or call our UFO Sightings Hotline at 765-483-9089. IPUS Board Member and Co-Spokesperson, Dick Criswell, is available for media inquiries and guest spots about our investigation into the Texas UFO Sightings. Psychic Ability Test and the Realm of the Unknown
The thought of someone having psychic or telepathic abilities has captivated and mesmerized humanity, since the beginning of time. Exploring history, you will find that different cultures from around the world boast tales of rich, traditional legends, which include witches, wizards, mediums, seers, shamans, priests and priestesses who claimed to have psychic abilities. Pick up any book about ancient societies and you are sure to find stories of people who claimed they could use their telepathic abilities to tell the future or interpret signs.
The value of psychics in today's society is still very high despite the advances in modern science and the answers that it provides. Many industries seek out psychics, such as movies, television and book authors. Once a criminal case has exhausted all possible leads, for example, the case may become a psychic job as police and detectives search for more insight and clues.
People who want some extra guidance or counsel in their personal life or career may also hire those reported to have psychic abilities. However, con artists and charlatans can also use their advanced powers of intuition, charm, and understanding of human behavior to take advantage of grieving, scared, or otherwise vulnerable people. They can easily pass a desperate person's informal psychic ability test.
Parapsychology is a field of study that focuses on paranormal psychological phenomena and those that display paranormal abilities. These abilities can be classified by group. Then, the individuals are evaluated for the strength of the ability. There isn't one ultimate psychic ability test. However, numerous ESP tests exist and can adequately measure people's extrasensory perception skills.
A psychic ability test can be designed to check for telepathy, extrasensory perception abilities, or psychokinetic abilities. Since the ability to read thoughts or feelings, send thoughts or feelings, or control the minds of others without the use of physical senses could be highly useful, mental telepathy is a popular ability for science fiction and parapsychology tests. Two or more people can be asked to think of a series of colors or objects, and the degree to which their answers agree without any exchange of sensory information can indicate telepathic ability.
Some extrasensory perception skills which can be tested for include clairvoyance, precognition, and remote viewing. Someone with the trait of clairvoyance will be able to learn about places or events in distant locations. If someone possesses the trait of precognition, he or she will be able to describe future events and places in advance. Remote viewing is a skill analogous to clairvoyance, and refers to someone able to visualize an event or place without needing to be in attendance physically.
Studies often test psychic abilities. Psychokinetic abilities are just one group of these psychic abilities that are tested. These abilities include powers of mind over matter. With telekinesis, one can move an object or project force with powers of the mind. Psychokinetic abilities can also control temperatures, weather, and electrical energy.
